The Osteopathic Research Center (ORC) founded in 2002 to serve as a profession-wide research center for osteopathic medicine.
The original mission of the ORC was to conduct research on the mechanistic and clinical aspects of osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT). In so doing, the ORC has provided important evidence through systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and randomized controlled trials. COME Center for Osteopathic Medicine Collaboration Collaboration is an interdisciplinary foundation for osteopathy excellence.
Bringing together clinicians and scientists who study the effect and effectiveness of osteopathic medicine.
The goal is to understand how osteopathy works, to produce compelling evidence to optimize health care services and enhance quality of education. The research groups study all aspects of application of osteopathic medicine including lab-based and clinical-based research as well as translational research.

Osteopathic lymphatic pump techniques to enhance immunity and treat pneumonia
Hodge, Osteopath Med. 2012 Mar;15(1):13-21.
Through understanding the mechanisms by which osteopathy enhances the lymphatic and immune systems and alters disease progression, Dr Hodge provides scientific support for the clinical application of osteopathy.
